Helfrich

Helfrich
Neighborhood Association

The Helfrich Neighborhood’s boundaries are West Maryland Street west to St. Joe; Illinois Street to Marine Avenue; Iowa Street to Helfrich Lane and Wessel Lane; and back to West Maryland.

Our mission is to promote unity, fellowship, pride, improvement of the neighborhood, and most of all to build a good close relationship with the Evansville Police Department to personally advise us on the safety in our area.

Helfrich Park STEM Academy

Our neighborhood is home to Helfrich STEM Academy, Helfrich Pool, and Fire Station House 5. We have several houses in the area being renovated, giving older homes new life and a new look to the neighborhood.

This is a generational neighborhood where many families are living in homes once occupied by their older relatives. In many cases, other family members also live within the area.

Helfrich Park Pool

The neighborhood has a Halloween and Christmas Decorating Contest every year. The top two or three winners get a gift card for their efforts to make our area welcoming. During Covid, we brought in a few food trucks to the school parking lot offering neighbors a chance to get “out” for some much-needed relief.
