Midtown Neighborhood

Midtown Neighborhood Association

Midtown is conveniently located by the Lloyd Expressway and borders the State Hospital grounds.  Walking, running, and bicycling in the Midtown neighborhood are enjoyable and safe. Soon, the second phase of the Walnut Street Project will link the Greenway on the riverfront to Wesselman Park via the overpass on the Lloyd at the State Hospital grounds.

Midtown Neighborhood scenery

This is a stable neighborhood with many residents who have lived here for many years.  All residents maintain their property and it always is well kept.  Houses that do sell, go fast.

It appears to be a safe neighborhood with little crime as reported by our Community Police Officer.

There are a handful of businesses in our neighborhood association area, most located on Lincoln Avenue, and our one restaurant, Manna Mediterranean Grill is quite popular.

Midtown Neighborhood scenery

The jewel of Midtown is Roosevelt Drive in the spring – the azaleas, dogwoods, redbuds, and magnolias are abundant in most of the residents’ landscaping.  One neighbor offers an azalea garden that at times is open for the public at large to take a peek.

Midtown neighborhood meetings usually include a guest speaker on issues pertinent to the area.  Attendees to the meetings at Grace & Peace Lutheran Church on Boeke Road are encouraged to bring canned goods for the church’s food pantry.  Each year the association has an annual carry-in picnic which is a special event for all family members to enjoy.
