The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will be starting a Refresh Evansville project to replace the water mains along Claremont Avenue, South Bosse Avenue, and Craig Avenue. The construction is set to take until October 2022. The Neighborhoods effected will be Westside Improvement, Poplar Grove, and Reitz Hill.
Residents along the construction corridor can expect to see heavy construction over long periods of time. They may experience water outages and interruptions or delays in daily routines.
The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility maintains 1,000 miles of water lines – 600 miles of which are cast iron pipes with an average age of more than 90 years. Most of those pipes are now at or past their life expectancy.
