Some City of Evansville Ordinances

 

Concerning Neighborhood Associations, AKA the Neighborhood Bill of Rights Neighborhoods registered with the Department of Metropolitan Development are recognized under this ordinance, which assures the neighborhoods will be notified of zoning changes within their boundaries.
"Drug House" A summary of the ordinance concerning real estate used for illegal use or sale of illegal drugs or controlled substances, gambling or prostitution
Evansville/Vanderburgh Unification Study Proposal The majority proposal of the Evansville/ Vanderburgh County Unification Committee
Weeds and Rank Vegetation Outlines the procedures for violation notification and removal of weeds and rank vegetation.
Sidewalk Repair and Replacement Summary of the new sidewalk program which began January 1st, 2005.
Smoking Ordinance The City of Evansville passed a new Smoking Ordinance which will ban smoking
in many public areas. Included in the smoking ban are all workplaces, shopping malls, sports arenas, elevators, health-care facilities, lobbies, common areas
of apartment buildings, public transportation, rest rooms, reception areas and service lines. The measure also bans outdoor smoking within 25 feet of any enclosed area where smoking is banned.
Animal Care and Control Ordinance The Animal Care and Control Commission drafted a new Animal Care and Control Ordinance. Joint neighborhood meetings have been conducted to inform the public about the ordinance. Check back on the site to see upcoming meeting dates.
