Have you been to an UNOE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING?

Every month UNOE hosts a General Membership Meeting at the American Red Cross Center located on Stockwell Road. It is the held on the last Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Representatives from every neighborhood association should try to attend these meetings so that they can report back to the board and members of their neighborhood association. Stay connected to what's happening in Evansville, learn how to keep you neighborhood association active, and voice your concerns. The meetings are open for anyone to attend.

Chris Cook is the President of Eastview Neighborhood Association and the chair of the Spark Plug Committee.

David Ballew is the President of UNOE as well as the President of Culver Neighborhood Association.

The 11th Annual Neighborhood Sparkplug Recognition Dinner was held October 26, 2007.
Neighborhood and city leaders attended and participated in this evening of good cheer, great fellowship, celebration, and recognition. Congratulations to the Neighborhood Sparkplugs and Neighborhood Crime Prevention Officers who received awards at the Banquet. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Great American Cleanup, April 2008

Many neighborhoods participated in the Great American Cleanup in April, including the Eastview and South Lincoln Park Drive Neighborhood Associations. The Eastview Neighborhood Association had a record year for participation and trash collected. Neighborhood members and members of the Evansville Vipers Semi Professional Football Team participated. The day was capped off with a cook out in the back yard of Vice President Chris Cook's home. Nineteen neighbors helped out with what South Lincoln Park Drive called "Cleaning up the Home Front" for the Great American Cleanup. They collected enough yard waste to fill a large dumpster. Thanks to Eastview, South Lincoln Park Drive, and all of the other Neighborhood Associations who participated in April's Great American Cleanup.

National Night Out 2008

Tuesday, August 5th, citizens throughout Evansville, joined forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the "25th Annual National Night Out" crime and drug prevention event. NNO is designed to 1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; 3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and 4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

In Evansville, three police sectors worked with neighborhoods to put this event on the three area parks: Akin Park, Garvin Park, and Lorraine Park.
